Terms and Conditions for Online Coaching Services

Welcome to The IB English Coach (“the company”, "the Service", “we”, “us,”, “our”), your trusted partner in providing online tutoring services for International Baccalaureate (IB) students. By accessing and using our services, you (“the user”, “your”, “student”) agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using our website and services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Acceptance of these terms also signifies that parental permission has been obtained for one-on-one online educational tutoring to take place.

2. Services Provided

We offer online tutoring services for IB students. Appointments are conducted via Google Meet and are structured to provide one-on-one personalised educational support. After your booking a link will be provided in the booking email. This link should be used to access the online coaching session at the appropriate time.

3. Appointment Booking and Payment

Appointments must be booked online through our website. By booking an appointment, you confirm that you are authorised to make these arrangements and that you accept these Terms and Conditions.

4. Payment

Payment is required in full at the time of booking and can be made using Square or PayPal. All payments are non-refundable. Your booking will only be confirmed once payment has been successfully processed.

5. Subscription Packages

We offer monthly subscription packages for those who choose to engage with our services on a regular basis. Subscriptions can be cancelled prior to the next billing cycle. Payments for subscription packages are non-refundable once processed.

6. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the appointment time will be charged the full session fee. With regards to packages and subscriptions, should a booking be cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, the session will be considered void and removed from the remaining total. In the event that a tutor must cancel within 48 hours of the appointment, the appointment can be rebooked via the website.

7. Appointment Duration

Each tutoring session is scheduled for one hour. Appointments must start and finish on time. Please ensure that the student is ready for the session at the scheduled start time, as late arrivals will not extend the length of the session.

8. No-Show Policy

If a student does not log on at the appointed time, the tutor will wait for 15 minutes. If the student has not joined the session by that time, this will be considered a no-show and the lesson will be forfeited without refund.

9. Technology and Connectivity Requirements

The Company accepts no liability for technical or connectivity issues that may arise during a session. Students must ensure that they have the necessary equipment (including a stable internet connection, functional web-cam/ microphone, and the Google Meet Platform) to participate in the tutoring sessions.

10. Lesson Expiration and Forfeiture

All purchased packages and single sessions must be used within 90 days from the date of purchase. After this date, any unused sessions will be forfeited without refund.

11.Our Commitment

While we are committed to providing quality tutoring services, we do not guarantee any specific academic outcomes or improvements in grades. The progress of each student will depend on various factors, including individual effort and external circumstances. Results may vary based on individual effort and we encourage active participation in the coaching process.

12. Parental / Guardian Responsibility

Parents or Guardians are responsible for ensuring that the student is present for the scheduled tutoring sessions and understands that the tutoring will take place online via Google Hangouts. By booking a session, parents assume all responsibility and agree to supervise the student’s participation. Parents or Guardians acknowledge and accept responsibility for ensuring that students are prepared for tutoring sessions. This includes but is not limited to providing appropriate study materials and ensuring students have a suitable environment for online learning.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The IB English Coach shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages that result from the use of our services or the inability to access, use or evaluate our services.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the website. Your continued use of our Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms and Conditions.

15. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of the United Kingdom.
